"Dolphin Tail" is the story of a Dolphin named "Winter" who has had her tail amputated to save her life. Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) is the only son of single mother, Lorraine Nelson (Ashley Judd). Since the loss of his father, Sawyer has been distant and cold. One day, while walking on the beach, he finds an injured "Winter" caught in a net on the beach. After learning Winter's tail must be amputated to save her life, Sawyer goes to great lengths to restore the belief that miracles do happen.
This is an excellent family film, shot in southern Florida. Most of the movie takes place at the marine animal refuge run by Dr. Clay Haskett (Harry Connick Jr.). The simple premise of the movie has a perfect balance between heartbreak and triumph that will put a smile on your face.
I would recommend this movie for all age groups.
