Good Deeds

Tyler Perry (Wesley Deeds)
Thandie Newton (Lindsey Wakefield)
Gabrielle Union (Natalie)
Brian White (Walter Deeds)
Phylicia Rashad (Wilimena Deeds)

Wesley Deeds III was born into privledge.  He is the good son who has always done what was expected of him. Now that he is responsible for running his father's multi-million dollar corporation and he is engaged to Natalie, his life is perfect.  But is Wesley truely happy? Is this the life he truley desires for himself or his childhood dream.  After spending his entire life fulfilling the expectations of others, will Wesley's "good deeds" finally bring him the happiness he has always desired.

For everyone who loves or hates Tyler Perry movies, this film will be a pleasant surprise for both. Perry steps outside of his normal humor and playful bantor to write and direct a powerful movie that will reach out to a broader audience.  Filmed primarily in Perry's hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, the movie depicts a more afluent side of African American culture.  Perry's character shows that good deeds are more than just an action but can be a lifestyle.

This is not your typical Tyler Perry movie. I strongly identified with the character of Wesley Deeds from my own personal experiences. There are characters and situations in this movie that everyone can relate to. I strongly believe this is one of the better movies of the year and I look foward to seeing more movies like this from Tyler Perry.

I rated this 8 out of 10.
